Growhouse raided in Leitrim as gardaí seize €200,000 of cannabis

A man in his 50s has been arrested.

A MAN IN his 50s has been arrested in Leitrim following the discovery of a “sophisticated cannabis growhouse”.

Gardaí in Carrick on Shannon discovered the operation at a house in Aughavas, near Carrigallen.

During the course of the search, a highly sophisticated grow house was discovered which had over 250 cannabis plants growing at what was described as “a mature stage of growth”. Gardaí estimate that the plants have an estimated street value of €200,000.

The house has been sealed off for a forensic technical examination which is taking place at this time.
