Cannabis growhouse worth €240,000 found at rural Offaly house

A man in his 50s has been arrested.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED cannabis plants worth some €240,000 and arrested a man in his 50s after a raid at a house in rural Co Offaly yesterday.

Gardaí from Tullamore and Edenderry, supported by the Eastern Regnional Support Unit, carried out the operation at Coolcor near Rhode in the north of the county.

300 cannabis plants with an approximate street value of €240,000 were seized, pending analysis.

The man, who’s aged 50, has been taken to Tullamore Garda Station for questioning under the provisions Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
