Cannabis worth €500k found in tyres at Rosslare Port

A man in his 60s has been arrested in connection with the seizure.

REVENUE’S CUSTOMS SERVICE has said that it seized €500,000 worth of cannabis at Rosslare Europort yesterday.

The 30 kilogrammes of cannabis was found concealed in the tyres of a vehicle which was part of a container-load arriving at the port in the Wexford town on a ferry from France yesterday.

The drugs were discovered following a scan of the container by Revenue’s mobile scanner.

A male in his 60 was arrested and was taken to Wexford Garda Station.
