Man arrested as cannabis worth €280k is seized in Roscommon

Gardaí made the recovery following the search rural house in Athleague.

OVER A QUARTER of a million euro worth of cannabis was seized by Gardaí this morning after the search of a house in Roscommon.

A man in his late 20′s was arrested at the scene when officers from the the Roscommon divisional drug unit conducted a planned search of a rural house in Athleague.

During the course of the search cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €280,000 were recovered. The man is currently being detained at Roscommon Garda Station.

Gardaí say today’s seizure is part of an ongoing operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis in the Roscommon area.
