Man dies after car hits a bus in Donegal

The man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene after his car hit a bus on the Ballybofey to Donegal Road this morning.

A MAN HAS died after his car hit a bus on the Ballybofey to Donegal Road earlier this morning.

The man in his 50s was fatally injured when his car hit a bus near Barnesmore Gap at around 8.30am this morning. The man, who was the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger on the bus was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital with what are described as minor injuries.

The road is currently closed as gardaí carry out a forensic collision investigations and diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Ballybofey Garda Station on 074-9137740, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
