FOOTAGE HAS EMERGED of a dramatic car chase between joyriders and pursuing gardaí.
The video was sent into the FM104 Phoneshow with Chris Barry and shows a garda 4 x 4 jeep attempt to stop a car from driving away.
The escaping car, which is a Mitsubishi Galant, is seen to smash into the garda vehicle before swerving through the junction and driving away.
Gardaí chased the car from Dublin’s Rathfarnham to Terenure on Wednesday between 4pm and 4.15pm.
The car contained four occupants all under the age of 18. Three of them have been released without charge. The driver has also been released and is pending referral to the juvenile liaison scheme.
Gardaí confirmed that they are investigating the incident.
