Man in his 30s killed in car crash

Four other men were taken to hospital.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a crash which left a man in his late 30s dead.

The fatal road traffic collision occurred at Tullaskeagh, Roscrea, County Tipperary yesterday evening, at around 7.30pm.

A man, aged 37, suffered serious injuries when the car he was travelling in as a passenger collided with another car.

He was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead. A post mortem is to be arranged.

The driver of the car, who is in his early 70s, and the three occupants of the second car, all male, were taken to University Hospital Limerick with non serious injuries.

The R445 (old N7) west-bound carriageway, is currently closed at the Knock Road junction, Tullaskeagh to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067 50450, the Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
