Man killed in car crash in Co. Meath overnight

The 25-year-old’s car hit a tree just outside Kingscourt at 12.30am this morning.

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been killed in a car accident in County Meath overnight.

The single-vehicle crash happened at Dunheeda, Kingscourt on the main Drumconrath to Kingscourt road at about 12.30am this morning.

The accident occurred when the car left the road and collided with a tree. The man was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to Navan Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A post mortem is expected to take place later today. No other injuries have been reported.

The road is closed and local diversions are in place. A forensic investigation will take place at the scene later today.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact them in Navan on 046 9036100, on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or at any Garda station.
