A dress for sale in Cari's Closet. Cari's Closet

Irish boutique Cari's Closet responds to criticism made on anonymous Instagram account

The boutique came under fire in posts on the Instagram page earlier this week.

AN IRISH BOUTIQUE has released a statement after claims were made about its products and service on an anonymous Instagram page that has 193k followers.

The company, which has outlets in Malahide, Dublin and Cork, sells women’s clothing in its store and online.

This week, multiple claims were made about the cost and quality of the items and about alleged customer service experiences at the store. They were made on a hugely popular Instagram account run by an anonymous person based in Ireland.

Some of the claims were in relation to where the items sold by Cari’s Closet were sourced.

In response to the negative comments, Cari’s Closet said in a statement:

Cari’s Closet wishes to acknowledge the recent claims online to the store.  We manufacturer [sic] our own clothes for sale in our stores and on our website in factories China and through wholesalers.
All our clothes that we retail have Cari’s Closet labels on them.  We do not buy clothes for retail in our stores through any online websites.
We have worked hard over the last six years with our team to build our business.
We started out as a rental store for the first three years, but we now only sell our own label.
Our customers are important to us and we deal with all complaints we get individually.

The company said it could not comment on any potential legal action.

The Instagram page in question bills itself as a page which highlights behaviour by bloggers, influencers, and companies.

Over the last few days, it has posted two Instagram posts featuring comments from people who say they were customers of Cari’s Closet and that they were unhappy with the service they received.
