Man seriously injured in Co Carlow traffic collision

Two passengers in the car were taken to hospital but are not seriously injured.

A MAN IN his twenties has been seriously injured in a traffic collision in Carlow.

Gardaí at Borris, Co Carlow are investigating the single-vehicle serious road traffic collision, which occurred on the Bagnelstown to Borris Road in an area known as Kilcummey at approximately 9.50pm last night.

The 22-year-old male driver of the car was seriously injured when the car he was driving left the road at Kilcumney.

He was taken to hospital in Kilkenny and his condition is described as serious.

The two male passengers in the car (aged 23 and 24) were also taken to hospital. Their injuries are described as not serious.

Gardaí said that the road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It is due to reopen shortly.

An appealing has been made for witnesses to this collision to contact Borris Garda Station on 059 9773102, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any garda station.
