Man to face court after submachine gun found in Castleknock

He was charged this evening and will appear at the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning.

A MAN IS due in court tomorrow in connection with the find of a submachine gun and drugs in west Dublin.

The discovery is part of a significant investigation into serious organised crime in the Dublin region involving gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau including the Serious Crime Taskforce supported by local gardaí.

“During the course of the search a submachine gun and ammunition were recovered together with a significant quantity of cocaine (subject to analysis),” the gardaí said in a statement.

Drug paraphernalia along with mixing agents was also recovered during the course of the search.

One man in his 30s was arrested and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station.

He was charged this evening and will appear at the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning.
