Man (60s) left with serious injuries following Cavan road crash

The incident occurred on the N3 near Belturbet.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses following a traffic collision in Co Cavan yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at around 6pm, on the N3 near Belturbet, when a car collided with a van.

The driver of the van, aged in his 60s, was taken to Cavan General Hospital with serious injuries, and was later transferred to a Dublin hospital.

The occupants of the car were taken to Cavan General, but their injuries are described as not life-threatening.

The scene of the collision is currently sealed off, with local traffic diversions in place, while gardaí forensic investigators survey the scene.
