Man charged over woman's stabbing in Cavan

The man, aged in his 50s, is appearing before a special sitting of Cavan District Court.

A MAN HAS been charged in connection with a woman’s stabbing at a house in Kilnaleck, Co Cavan, on Christmas Eve.

The woman is believed to have suffered a punctured lung after being stabbed several times.

The man, aged in his 50s, is appearing before a special sitting of Cavan District Court this evening.

The man was detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Cavan Garda Station.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at Cavan Station on 049 4368800.
