'Don't chase bears while drunk and holding a hatchet', warn police

If you go down to the woods today…

NORTH ADAMS POLICE Department in Massachusetts had to give an unusual warning to locals today: don’t go chasing bears while drunk.

Oh, and don’t do it while brandishing a dull hatchet.

Their advice came in a Facebook post, which said they don’t want anyone “going all Davy Crockett” on them:

So what should you do if you see a bear? Handily enough, Massachusetts government has some info on that.

It all boils down to leaving the animal alone, and contacting the authorities.

No hatchet needed. And no arrest at the end of it.
