GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a potential child abduction attempt in Co Westmeath.

It’s believed a man approached a young boy while he was walking to school on Wednesday morning.

Gardaí confirmed they are investigating the incident, which occurred on Ashe Road in Mullingar shortly after 8.30am on Wednesday.

A spoeksperson told TheJournal.ie no one was injured in the incident and “enquiries are ongoing”.
