It's Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas! You can now listen to festive music all day, every day

Christmas FM returns to your airwaves today.

MOST OF IRELAND’S radio stations will start blasting out Fairytale of New York on Monday but if you can’t wait until then, Christmas FM has you more than covered.

The festive station returns to the airwaves this morning under a temporary licence from the Broadcasting Authority (BAI).

The volunteer-led initiative will play all your favourite Christmas tunes while raising awareness and funds for Age Action.

This is the station’s seventh year and it will be available from 7am to midnight every day until 27 December.

The songwriting competition is also back this year with Central and Christmas FM asking listeners to create the perfect Christmas song. Could you be the next Midge Ure?

Unfortunately, the service is limited to some counties. The lucky ones are Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Galway, Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny and Tipperary. The full list of frequencies is here. But don’t worry, if you’re not covered, you can listen online here, download the app or tune in on UPC Ireland, channel 900.

And, if you really can’t wait, here’s something to get you in the mood.
