Citroen channels its much-loved CX for new concept car

Citroën will showcase this innovative plug-in hybrid concept car at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

FRENCH CAR MAKER Citroen, hopes to impress the crowds at this month’s Paris Motor Show as it unveils its latest design in the form of the Citroen Cxperience Concept.

Citroen aficionados will spot the obvious hat tip to the much-loved CX in this concept’s name, and the similarities don’t end there.

Measuring in at a lengthy 4.85 metres, the Cxperience Concept is no small city car – while its width of 2.0 metres and height of 1.37 metres ensure that it has a sleek image with plenty of road presence.

The interior is an exercise in classic Citroen design, with a floating wood-covered dashboard that houses an enormous landscape-style screen. There is a 70s vibe to the cabin thanks to the citrus yellow fabric.

Under the sea-green paintwork and sleek exterior lies a plug-in petrol hybrid drivetrain producing a total of 300hp.

Citroen claims it is capable of running on just electric power for up to 60km and can be fully recharged in as little as two-and-a-half hours depending on the type of charger.

For now, the Cxperience Concept remains just that – a concept – but it is an interesting look at where the French car maker could be heading in the future.
