A female pillion passenger was also injured in the collision and has been taken to Galway University Hospital.

TWO MOTORCYCLISTS HAVE been killed in a crash in Co Clare this evening.

Gardaí said the collision between the two motorcyclists occurred at 6.45pm about a half a mile outside Lisdoonvarna on the Ennistymon Road.

Both men were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. A female pillion passenger on one of the bikes was taken to Galway University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

One of the men has been taken to the mortuary in Limerick and one remains at the scene. The road has been closed for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
