Gardaí seek witnesses to murder of Jason Carroll

Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen a small four-door hatchback in the Cherrywood area of Clondalkin between 9pm and 10.45pm.

GARDAÍ ARE SEEKING information on the movements of a car that was found burnt out following the murder of Jason Carroll in Clondalkin last night.

Carroll (39) was shot at Cherrywood Drive at approximately 10.30pm last night 29 August before dying of his injuries at Tallaght Hospital.

Gardaí investigating the killing are appealing for anybody in the Cherrywood area who may have witnessed the incident or seen anyone acting suspiciously on foot or in vehicles in the area, particularly on the evening of the shooting or on the days leading up to the shooting, to contact them,.

Gardaí are also looking to speak to anyone who may have seen a small four-door hatchback arrive into the Cherrywood area or leave the area between 9pm and 10.45pm.

The car was found burnt out close to the public house formerly known Polly Hops and Gardaí want to speak with anyone who who may have been on the old Peamount/Lucan Rd, known locally as the Rock Road, between 10.15pm and 10.45pm on the night of the killing.

The murder of Carroll was the second in the Clondalkin area in the past week following the shooting dead of Dean Johnson on Saturday.
