Victim staggers into garda station after gun attack at church

The man, understood to be a well-known criminal, was shot and injured in Clondalkin.

A MAN IN his 30s is being treated in hospital this evening after a shooting incident in the Clondalkin area of Dublin.

The man, understood to be a well-known criminal, staggered into Clondalkin Garda Station in the immediate aftermath of the attack, at around 6.15pm.

He’s since been taken to Tallaght Hospital where his condition is said to be ‘critical’.

He was shot several minutes earlier during an incident on Bawnogue Road.

A church car park on Bawnogue Road, Clondalkin Garda Station and part of Tower Road in the West Dublin suburb have been sealed off, pending forensic tests.

Traffic diversions are currently in place on Tower Road.
