Woman pedestrian hospitalised after Cork hit-and-run

The woman was taken to Cork University Hospital where her condition is described a serious.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS been launched after a female pedestrian was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Cobh, Co Cork this morning.

The woman, 52, was out walking when she was hit by a vehicle, which failed to stop, at Ballynoe Hill in Cobh, close to the junction of Ballynoe Hill and the Tay Road.

The woman was taken to Cork University Hospital where her condition is described a serious.

The road has been closed to facilitate a forensic collission examination but has since been reopened.

Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed anything in the area between 8am and 8.45am is asked to contact gardaí in Cobh on 021 4908530, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
