€378,000 worth of cocaine found hidden in sweets at Dublin Airport

A 50-year-old Romanian national arriving from Abu Dhabi was arrested.

REVENUE HAS SEIZED €378,000 worth of cocaine at Dublin Airport.

Officers from customs seized the 5.4kgs of cocaine, which was concealed in sweets yesterday. There were 289 pellets of the drug in total.

They were found when a 50-year-old Romanian national who had arrived on a flight from Abu Dhabi was stopped and searched.

The man was arrested and later appeared in the Court of Criminal Appeal where Judge Anthony Halpin remanded him in custody for a week to appear in Cloverhill Court on 14 November.
