Cocaine worth €35k seized in Cork City

Two men were search by gardaí in the Blackpool area of the city

FOLLOWING A SEARCH of two men in Cork last night, a cocaine seizure with a street value of €35,000 was made.

As part on an ongoing operation and investigations into the supply and distribution of controlled substances in the Cork city area, gardai from the Cork Divisional Drugs Unit assisted by local units stopped and searched two males in the Blackpool area of Cork City.

During the search of these two males, aged 22 and 25, gardaí discovered 500 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of €35,000.

Both males were arrested and are being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice(Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Gurranabraher Garda station.

As part of a follow up search of a house in Knocknaheeney, €400 worth of cannabis resin was discovered.
