Updated 6.40pm

THE REMOVAL OF Jason Corbett is taking place in Limerick this evening.

The 39-year-old father-of-two died from fatal head injuries he received in a domestic incident in his home in North Carolina earlier this month.

Jason’s body is being removed to Our Lady Queen of Peace church in Janesboro this evening.

The father of two will be laid to rest alongside his first wife, Mags, who died from an asthma attack in 2006. His funeral service take place tomorrow at 12 noon.

RTÉ reports that two white doves will be released at his graveside, to symbolise Jason and his Mags’ deaths.

His body was brought back to Ireland over a week ago, however his family waited until his two children were back in Ireland before holding the funeral.

Jack (10) and Sarah (8) arrived in Ireland on Saturday morning after Jason Corbett’s sister Tracey and her husband David Lynch overcame a custody battle with the children’s stepmother.

The children had been living in North Carolina with their father and stepmother Molly Martens before their father’s death.

His funeral mass is due to take place at noon tomorrow and he will be buried in Castlemungret Cemetery afterwards.
