Young man killed in Co Cork road crash

The 19-year-old died after the collision in Whitegate.

A 19-YEAR-OLD man has died following a car crash in Co Cork yesterday evening.

The two-car collision happened on Refinery Rd in Whitegate at about 6.35pm when his car collided with another car being driven by a 21-year-old.

The male driver of the second car received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene and and was removed to the mortuary at CUH.

There were no passengers in either car or any other injuries.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact gardaí.
