Female cyclist found seriously injured on side of road after collision

The woman is being treated at Cork University Hospital.

A CYCLIST WAS found on the side of a Cork road yesterday evening after being injured in a collision.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred at Glen South, Naad in Kanturk, Co Cork. The 32-year-old woman was found at 5.30pm by a passerby.

She was taken to Cork University Hospital and gardaí said this morning she “has serious injuries”.

The scene of the incident is preserved pending a technical examination and local diversions are in place.

A garda spokesperson said the incident is not currently being treated as a hit-and-run as they have been unable to speak to the injured woman. However they said they were investigating “all circumstances”.
