CORK FIRE SERVICE says there were no injuries in this morning’s blaze in the Blackpool area of the city.

The fire broke out at Brennan’s Crash Repairs on Commons Road at around 11am, according to an officer at the service’s control room.

Huge plumes of smoke could be seen over a large area of the city, as the blaze continued to burn.

The fire, which caused significant damage to the premises, was put out by this afternoon.

An investigation will take place, in line with procedure.
