Judge attacked and injured while hearing case in family court

It happened at Dolphin House courtroom in Temple Bar at around lunchtime.

A DISTRICT COURT judge has been taken to hospital in Dublin after an assault at a family law hearing this afternoon.

It happened at Dolphin House courtroom in Temple Bar at around lunchtime.

A man involved in the case “became violent” according to a courts source.

Presiding judge Miriam Walsh was injured, and taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

Security systems were in place in the courtroom, and gardaí stationed at the facility intervened immediately.

A man who was arrested at the scene has been taken to Pearse Street Garda Station for questioning.
