Man in his 60s killed overnight after 4x4 hits wall

A post-mortem will carried out later today.

A 60-YEAR-OLD MAN has died after his 4×4 vehicle hit a wall last night.

Gardaí were called to the scene of the crash at at Liosban Industrial Estate in Galway at around 10pm last night, according to a statement.

The man was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to University College Hospital Galway, where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene has been sealed off for forensic tests and local diversions are in place.

The local coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will carried out later today.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Ten people have died on Irish roads in the first 14 days of 2015.
