Man (80s) in serious condition after two-vehicle crash in Limerick

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after two men were taken to hospital following a two-car-collision in Limerick.

The incident happened this morning at about 8.30 on the R526 at Raheen near Casey’s furniture.

A man in his 80s and a man in his 20s were injured in the crash.

Both were the drivers of the two vehicles and were taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick.

The man in his 80s is described as in a serious condition while gardaí said the other man suffered minor injuries.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

The road was closed this morning to facilitate a garda technical examination of the scene.

Gardaí at Roxboro Road are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them on 061 214 340.
