Criminal Assets Bureau to sell this Rolex watch on eBay

This is the second time CAB has sold a watch on eBay. The last one sold for €7,000.

THE CRIMINAL ASSETS Bureau is to put this Rolex watch up for sale on eBay tomorrow afternoon.

It is the second time in recent months that CAB, which investigates the proceeds of crime, has put an expensive watch up for sale on the auction website.  Last October a ladies Rolex watch sold for €7,000 on the site.

The Bureau often sells seized items through auction houses but the foray into online selling is a new one.

CAB said that they could not give out any details about why the watch had been seized or from whom.

The watch is a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona made of steel and yellow gold. Similar watches are for sale on eBay for between €6,000 and €10,000.

CAB’s eBay account name is proceedsofcrimeact1996 and can be seen here. The watch is to go on sale tomorrow.

As with all CAB auctions of confiscated items, proceeds of the sale will go back to the Exchequer.
