Man in his 30s rushed to hospital after early-morning attack in Crumlin

The incident took place at around 1.30am.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have appealed for witnesses to an assault that left a 31-year-old man seriously injured.

The incident took place at around 1.30am this morning on Captains Road in Crumlin.

The man was taken to Saint James’s Hospital after he and a second male were involved in an altercation with a group of other men.

The second man was not seriously injured.

The group of men are believed to have fled the scene on foot in the direction of Armagh Road/Windmill Road after the attack.

A man in his mid-20s was arrested in connection with the incident this afternoon and is currently being detained at Crumlin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at Crumlin Garda Station on 01 6666200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
