13-year-old cyclist in a serious condition after being hit by car

The crash happened on the N51 Slane Road near Drogheda at around 8.30pm.

A TEENAGE BOY is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car and knocked from his bike last evening.

It happened on the N51 Slane Road near Drogheda at around 8.30pm.

According to gardaí:

“The 13 year old male cyclist was conveyed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda after suffering serious injuries.

“The driver of the car was uninjured.”

The scene of the collision and part of the N51 remains sealed off this morning pending forensic tests, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí in Drogheda want to hear from anyone who may have been travelling the road between 7.30pm and 8.30pm last night and who may have more information, or who may have witnessed what happened.
