Cyclist injured and Dublin road closed after collision

Merrion Road is currently closed in both directions with diversions in place.

A CYCLIST HAS been seriously injured after a collision involving three cars and the cyclist on Merrion Road in Dublin this afternoon.

Gardaí say the collision happened shortly after 1pm and that the cyclist has sustained serious head injuries and has been taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

Merrion Road is now closed in both directions.  Diversions are in place using Aylesbury Road and Nutley Lane and motorists are asked to avoid the area as the main road will remain closed for a number of hours.
