Cyclist in her 20s killed after being hit by truck in Blackrock

A FEMALE CYCLIST in her mid-20s has died after she was struck by a truck in Blackrock, south Dublin this morning.

The accident happened on the Frascati Road at Carysfort Avenue.

Gardaí told TheJournal.ie that the “serious collision” took place before 8.40am and the woman was removed to St. Vincent’s Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The road has reopened to traffic following a technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for eye-witnesses to contact Blackrock Garda Station 01-6665200 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
