THINGS GOT PRETTY heated in the Dáil this morning as Budget 2014 dominated Leaders’ Questions.

Sinn Féin’s Mary Lou McDonald accused the government of forcing young people to emigrate with its welfare and employment strategy.

Enda Kenny became increasingly angrier, telling McDonald: “How dare you insult their intelligence! How dare you insult their motivation!”

As he sat down, Sinn Féin’s Pearse Doherty shouted across the chamber: “From the man who held two jobs for over 30 years.”

There was much more “roaring and shouting” as the Ceann Comhairle Seán Barrett put it before he admonished TDs, telling them: “You’re an embarrassment on television!”
