Appeal for witnesses after unconscious man found near Dublin pub

The man, who is in his late 30s, had serious head injuries

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to an alleged assault in Dublin city last night to come forward.

A member of the public found an unconscious man in a lane close to The George pub at about 11.30pm last night. The man, who is in his late 30s, had serious head injuries.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to St James’ Hospital. He has since been transferred to Beaumont where he remains in a serious condition this morning.

Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the Dame Lane area between 11pm and midnight last night to contact them at Pearse Street garda station on 01 666 9000.
