"I love to dance!": Daniel O'Donnell is going to compete on Strictly Come Dancing

The announcement was made today.

IRISH MUSICIAN DANIEL O’Donnell is going to star in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

O’Donnell made the announcement on Steve Wright In The Afternoon on BBC Radio 2 earlier today, saying:

Earlier this year, I decided to take a short break from touring and told myself that I would only consider doing something if it was both different and exciting. Well, what could be more exciting than Strictly Come Dancing? I love to dance and boy am I looking forward to getting started and being the best that I can be!

The singer and entertainer is the eighth celebrity to be confirmed for the series, and will join Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote, Katie Derham, Carol Kirkwood and Peter Andre for the show.

There are even more celebrity contestants yet to be announced, the BBC said.

We can expect to see Wee Daniel slip on his dancing shoes when the 13th series of Strictly sashays onto our screens next month on BBC One.
