Is Micheál Martin doing a good job? We asked a TD who could succeed him...

Mayo TD Dara Calleary spoke to TheJounal.ie yesterday.

DARA CALLEARY INSISTS he does not wake up every morning thinking he wants to be leader of Fianna Fáil.

The Mayo TD was speaking during the course of a wide-ranging interview with TheJournal.ie yesterday when we asked about the doubts around Martin’s leadership.

Calleary is seen as a future party leader along with the likes of finance spokesperson Michael McGrath, but he insisted:

“I don’t wake up every morning thinking: ‘Jaysus, I wanna be leader of Fianna Fáil.’”

He also gave us his assessment of the job Martin has been doing since he took over as leader in 2011:
