Is this the best Irish pub in the world?

The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog looks absolutely amazing. Mmmm… Friday evening grog.

THE DEAD RABBIT Grocery & Grog is an Irish-owned pub in New York and it’s just been voted one of the best bars in the world.

Google led me astray. It told me the #deadrabbitnyc was open at 11am but as it turns out, the Occasional Room was open, but not the famous Parlor. No worries, though, I still had some great cocktails! cocktailfiles cocktailfiles

The list, picked by industry news magazine Drinks International, gave the top spot to London’s Langham hotel bar, Artesian. Following in close second, is the Dead Rabbit, an Irish pub in New York.

The magazine says “they’ve managed to make the cocktail bar approachable to the masses and to make the Irish pub a great experience by offering exceptional products and exemplary service”.

Speaking to DailyEdge.ie earlier this year, Belfast-native owner Jack McGarry said he and partner Sean Muldoon strive to take “the best of every single pub in Ireland” and present it to New Yorkers.

But what’s all the fuss about?

They do a decent-looking fry up, bean prejudices aside

… as well as one named after all of us

Ireland is a funny old place, full of superstitions and old wive's tales. It's also full of people who couldn't care less. People like Gerry Murray, the kind of farmer who would cut down the fairy tree, who never thought his itchy nose was a warning of a fight or that his burning ears was someone talking about him. He could look a black cat in the eye, put new shoes on the table and he never waved at magpies. Not because Gerry didn't believe of it, but because Gerry was a God Fearing Catholic. This one's for you Gerry! deadrabbitnyc deadrabbitnyc

Dat bun

The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog Let's start by saying that this place is fucking (yes I'm cursing because it's that good) amazing on soo many levels! The Dead Rabbit is tied for first place on my list of cocktail bars in the city. DRGG is devided into 3 floors with a different take on booz-ification but the 2nd floor is where you wanna go (although this section is closed on Sundays). The list of historically accurate cocktails is mind blowing and they're all amazing, if you don't believe me look at the wall full of awards.
