Man arrested in connection with Dean Fitzpatrick death is released

The man in his 40s had been arrested yesterday. Fitzpatrick died after being stabbed in May.

A MAN WHO was arrested in connection with the death of Dean Fitzpatrick has now been released.

The man had been arrested on Friday 26 July, at approximately 9.30am.

Gardaí at Coolock who are investigating the fatal stabbing of Fitzpatrick, which occurred on 25 May 2013 at Northern Cross, Dublin, have since released without charge the man they were holding.

He was detained at Coolock Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A file on the matter will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

23-year-old Fitzpatrick was found with stab wounds at a house on Malahide Road in Dublin. He later died in hospital of his injuries.
