Man dies at Body and Soul music festival in Westmeath

Gardaí are investigating the incident as a non-suspicious death.

A 31-YEAR-old man has died at the Body and Soul music festival in Westmeath.

The man was taken to the medical tent yesterday afternoon by medical staff and tended to by advanced paramedics and a consultant doctor in emergency medicine. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Festival director Avril Stanley said the team at Body and Soul are “absolutely devastated by the news today”.

We wish to extend our deepest condolences to them at this time. We will continue to work closely with the gardaí on their investigation in this matter.

A post-mortem will be carried out at Mullingar Hospital today. Gardaí at Delvin Garda Station are investigating the incident and are treating it as a non-suspicious sudden death.
