Death of man in Clonmel now a murder inquiry

The man has been named locally as Anthony Fallon who was found in the lobby of an apartment block in the Tipperary town yesterday morning.

A MURDER INQUIRY has begun following the death of a man in Clonmel yesterday.

The 46-year-old man, named locally as Anthony Fallon, was found dead in the lobby of an apartment block in New Quay, in the Co Tipperary town just before 7am yesterday morning.

RTÉ reports that he received a number of head injuries. Garda forensics have carried out an examination of the scene and following a post mortem last night, the death was upgraded from a suspicious one to murder.

Yesterday, another scene, which Gardaí believe is related to the death, was being preserved at an apartment on Abbey Street near where the body was found.
