Woman arrested after man stabbed to death in Tipperary

The incident happened at a residence at The Maltings in Roscrea at about 2.30am this morning.

THE BODY OF a man has been found at a residence in Roscrea, Co Tipperary.

Gardaí were alerted to an incident at The Maltings in the town on the Laois border at about 2.30am last night.

The man, who was aged in his early 40s, had suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body remains at the scene.

A woman, aged in her mid-40s, was arrested a short time later and is being detained at Nenagh Garda Station.

The area has been sealed and preserved pending a Garda technical examination.

The state pathologist has been informed.
