The Dublin rail network went down for a while too — but that was nothing to do with the weather… Careful out there.

DUBLIN AIRPORT HAS had to divert a number of flights this evening as heavy fog lingers over the capital.

“There has been a number of diversions due to increased density,” a tweet from Airport management said.

Passengers are being advised to check with their airline for more details.

Here’s what the arrivals board at the airport looked like, at around 6pm…

Separately, there are also delays on the Dublin rail network this evening.

The problems are nothing to do with the weather conditions, however.

There was issue with central signalling earlier, which has since been addressed.

Services are now back running again, with some delays.

Fog warning

An ‘orange alert’ fog warning remains in effect this evening — affecting all of Connacht as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Kildare, Offally, Dublin and the North East.

The alert was renewed at 3pm today, and remains in effect until 10pm tonight.

AA Roadwatch is reporting a number of crashes this evening — and Gardaí are reminding everyone to pay heed to the conditions and slow down.

Lingering fog

There are also flight delays at Knock, and the Shannon ferry between Killimer and Tarbert has shut-down for the night, due to conditions.
