A two-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a car in Derry

The crash happened this afternoon at about 1.15pm.

A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy has died after he was struck by a car in Derry.

The collision happened on the Lone Moor Road at about 1.15pm with police saying that they have spoken to the driver of the car.

The road runs alongside the Brandywell Stadium and it remains closed as enquiries into the crash are ongoing.

The car that struck the toddler is a silver coloured Citroen Picasso with police asking anyone who has information on the crash to contact them.
