THE DISNEY MAGIC cruiseliner arrived in Dublin early this morning, carrying with it over 3,600 people.

The ship is making the journey from Port Canaveral in Florida to Dover in England as part of a 12 night transatlantic cruise.

There are 11 decks on the ship and those taking part in the voyage were today given a Cruise Dublin Visitor Pass to allow them explore the city before the ship departs again at 5.30pm.

The ship arrived this morning at about 5.30am and passengers were greeted by what Dublin Port described as a “Game of Thrones inspired entertainment spectacle”.

The ship is 300m long making it just about the right size to be able to both enter and turn around within the River Liffey.

Dublin Port recently began a €230 million upgrade project that will extend capacity and allow larger ships further up the mouth of the river to the Thomas Clarke Bridge.
