Disruptions to Luas Red Line following Store Street incident

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged shooting last night.

Updated 7.48am

COMMUTERS IN DUBLIN can expect delays today as the Luas Red Line had to limit service this morning due to an incident at Store Street last night.

Following instructions from gardaí, the Luas Red Line was running only between Saggart/Tallaght and Abbey Street for a time but full service has now resumed. However, some minor disruptions are expected throughout the morning.

The Luas Green Line is also operating as usual.

At about 9.30pm yesterday, a man in his 30s walked into Store Street garda station and told officers on duty that he had been shot. He was treated by ambulance personnel outside the station before being brought to the Mater Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Investigating gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to contact them on 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
