12 men arrested at one house over violent dissident republican activity

The men were arrested in Newry yesterday.

A DOZEN MEN were arrested yesterday in connection with what the PSNI call “violent dissident republican activity”.

The PSNI say the men were all arrested at one house in the Ardcarn Park area of Newry last night.

A PSNI statement says:

“Detectives from PSNI Serious Crime Branch investigating violent dissident republican activity have detained a number of men at a house in the Ardcarn Park area of Newry this evening”.

The BBC quotes Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes as saying the police are “determined to investigate those individuals suspected of involvement in serious crimes”.

He added that the investigation shows the PSNI’s “commitment to keep everyone in the community safe”.
