Poll: Do you have an organ donor card?

Transplant operations were at a high last year, but hundreds are still on waiting lists.

LAST YEAR WAS a record one for organ transplants in Ireland and this week, organ recipients have been telling the stories of how these ops saved their lives.

However, in October, it was reported that 650 people were languishing on transplant lists. A ‘soft opt-out’ system for organ donation in Ireland is being examined but currently, carrying a donor card is the only real indication of someone’s wishes to donate their organs after death.

Do you carry an organ donor card?
